As a longtime MUSD parent, I have first-hand experience of our district’s challenges in delivering quality education for our diverse and fast-growing population. Milpitas High School is now the largest school in the county, while 11th grade Math proficiency is only at 58%. Our children are our future, and they deserve to have the best education and environment to succeed.
I want to bring fresh perspective that will help fund our schools, while protecting hard-working families from tax increases. I’m proud that my initiative on school funding has enabled our district to negotiate for additional sources of revenue. My advocacy efforts have increased the protection of our students’ health and safety. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions and demand meaningful outcomes.
As your School Board Trustee, I will strive to ensure that our funds are used effectively to give all students the best opportunities, our teachers the best support, and our families a safe and stimulating environment in MUSD. I pledge to act in the interest of our children, our schools, and our community.
- Better education for our students – Supportive environment, academic and extracurricular excellence, college and career pathways, 2nd high school
- Greater value for taxpayers – Oversight to ensure effective use of funds. Find options to protect families from tax increases. Involve students, parents, teachers, and community as stakeholders in decision-making.
- More resources for our schools – Public-private partnerships including middle/early college, mentoring, internship, grant, teacher housing, STEAM programs.
I humbly ask for your vote in March 2020 so that together we will achieve the gold standard of public education.
